We love our australorps. They’re classic chickens… very beautiful, good layers, just nice to have around. One of ours tends to wander a bit more than the rest of the flock. I once opened our front door to find a neighbor whom I had never met, coming by to tell me that one of our chickens was in his yard. I went to check on it and there she was several houses and some woods away, foraging in their grass.
They begin life as multicolored chicks.
Before you know it that baby will have become a stunning hen.
It’s amazing how that happens.
Consider the australorp if your choosing your breeds today!
Love this photo. My daughter recently became a farm girl and thanks to her I’ve learned more about chickens than I ever thought I’d know!
thanks Lulu! You’ll have to write a post about your daughter’s chickens for us sometime!
She only has one leg! hahhaa, wait, I see the toes for the other! 🙂
I wondered if anyone would notice that Arthur 😉
We have three of those regal chickens and love all of them. 🙂 Beautiful shiny black/green feathers – gorgeous and good tempered.
They are treasures, aren’t they?
